Rickey was born July 18, 1954 in LaGrange, the son of the late Bobby Douglas and Ruby Nell Johnson White. He was a career law enforcement officer in Alabama and Georgia for 37 years having served the departments of Troup and Meriwether Sheriff’s office, cities of Manchester, Atlanta and Lanett. Officer White retired from the Woodbury Police Department as a Corporal. He was a member of Hilyer Baptist Church, he enjoyed football and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. Rickey was very patriotic, loved his country and often donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. He loved his family, and that love was extended to his grandbabies which he took to his favorite hangout at Mr. G’s store. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Don Lewis.
Survivors include his daughter: Carla White Rushing; son, Doug White; granddaughters, Aubrie Marie White and Lucy Marie Hart; sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara Lewis, Vickey and Gene Pierce, Martha and Buddy Carwell; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary LaGrange Chapel with the Pastor Cleve Moore officiating. The family will have a time of visitation on Friday from 2:00pm until the service time. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Rickey Hugh B White.
