

Mr. Magouirk was born April 25, 1924 at home, to the late John Tom and Lera Hodge Magouirk. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Mr. Magouirk enlisted into the United States Marine Corp at the age of 16, and served his country proudly during WWII, where he participated in action against the enemy in the islands of the Pacific. He was the owner and operator of Mack’s Wheel Alignment for 40 years and was an instructor of Auto Mechanics and Welding at West Georgia Technical College for the last 18 years of his employment. Ross and his wife, Mary shared a love of riding his Harley, they covered 48 states and were probably one of the few couples to visit the grandchildren on a motorcycle. In addition to his parents, Mr. Magouirk was preceded in death by a son, Rossie Lane Magouirk, Jr.; sister, Edna Swann and brother, Charlie Henry Magouirk.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Frank Magouirk; daughter, Robin White of LaGrange; son, Gary (Tara) Magouirk of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Tiffany (Howard) Studenwalt, Megan (Adam) Gillhouse, Christina (Chris) Parkinson, and Danielle Beeler; 7 great grandchildren, Taylor Grace, Rossie Lane, Temperance Hope, Colten, Jaxon, Cohen, and McKenzie; other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2015 with a Memorial Service at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The Reverend Max McCord will officiate and burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
