Ruth was my mother's best friend. She embodied all the qualities one would want in a BFF: loyalty, kindness, faith and humor. She was also, in her way, adventuresome and she and my mother had a lot of fun together through the years. I will miss Mrs. Bender, but like to think that she is, now, among friends. My thoughts are with the family during this time.

Your mother rented the apartment in her home to me when I was starting my teaching career. It was lovely and so was she. I also knew her from The Coca-Cola Company. Truly a Christian lady in the truest sense of the word. Ann Hilfiker King
