Sandra had a passion for plants and gardening. She was a talented landscape designer who founded her own company, Recreating Eden. Her job allowed her to create beautiful and functional outdoor spaces that reflected her clients’ lifestyles and dreams, as well as her own creativity and skill. Sandra took great pride in her work, which was once featured on the cover of Atlanta Magazine Home.
Sandra also created an elaborate estate garden at her own home. It was a peaceful retreat that featured a daffodil meadow, camellia walk, shade garden, vegetable parterre, potting shed, and other defined areas. Guests were always greeted at Sandra’s front door with an invitation to tour the garden first, before sitting down inside to chat.
After she retired, Sandra took up watercolor painting and took delight in perfecting this new skill. Flowers from her garden were her favorite models, as she recreated their likeness with paper and brush.
Above all else, Sandra treasured her family and friends. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved, creating lasting memories through her musical laughter, thoughtful conversations, and shared moments. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering loyalty will be remembered by all who knew her.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earle Jonas; her son, Brian Michael Hubar; her mother, Fay Goldenberg; her father, Aaron Archi Goldenberg; and her brother, Carl Goldenberg.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dr. Stacey R. (Thomas C.) Kohler; her cherished grandchildren, Aaron Julius Kohler and Marcy Kohler; her stepdaughter, Shari Jonas; and Shari's children, Blake and Andie. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A graveside service to celebrate Sandra's life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Whispering Hills Nature Preserve and Natural Green Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia. The family has requested that those attending wear gardener casual attire.
