Sharon Herring Obituary Sharon Ann Herring, age 86 of LaGrange Georgia, passed away on October 8 surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Futrell (Ron) and Toni Lynn Schillo; her stepdaughter Margaret McBride (Dan McIlrath), brother K. David Williamson (Nancy); grandchildren Ashleigh Dahl and Alan Finton, Jr., step-granddaughter Savannah Herring; great-grandchildren Olivia, Luke, and Chloe; a niece and nephews and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth M. Herring and her parents Kenneth O. and Anna Martha (Eakins) Williamson. Sharon was born in Ohio and grew up in a close knit and loving family with her brother and many cousins and friends. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School in Columbus Ohio.

As an adult, she moved to Florida where she began working at Winter Park Telephone Company. It was there that she met and married her soulmate, Ken. She worked at the phone company for over 20 years and retired from WPT/United/Sprint Telephone in the 1990’s. After retirement, Sharon and Ken began their adventure traveling the country and enjoying full time RV living for several years. Eventually they settled in LaGrange Georgia to be close to some of the family.

Sharon loved rv-ing, boating, reading, jewelry making, and most of all, enjoying family and dear friends. She asked that people remember her with joy and not sorrow.

A Celebration of Life is being held on Thursday, October 23rd, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary at 1 PM followed by a reception at the Marriott Courtyard in LaGrange at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local Humane Society or to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
