Mrs. Binion was born March 17, 1926 in Oglethorpe, GA to the late Nolan Eugene Walls and Mary Elizabeth Watson Walls. Shirley lived a life of gracious variety. She was the wife and helpmate to her husband Gene. She brought joy to everything she did, whether serving and worshipping at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or planning a celebration at Binion Land. She made sure everyone had a smile on their face. A painter, collector, and hostess; Shirley was the epitome of the gracious Southern woman. While she and her husband welcomed politicians, dignitaries, and even foreign princes to their home, it was her family that was the most precious to her. They were the true royalty that she loved each and every day.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Binion, son Larry Binion, daughter Patricia Binion Hill, and daughter-in-law Debbie Binion (Kenneth’s wife).
Mrs. Binion is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Jack) Morman, sons Dennis Binion, Kenneth Binion, and Guy (Gigi) Binion. In addition to being a loving mother to six children, she was a grandmother to 15 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 23 great-grand-children.
