SSG (Retired) Shepperd 'Shep' H. Phillips, III

Mr. Phillips was born September 27, 1951 in LaGrange, GA, son of Col. (Retired) Shepperd Hardy Phillips, Jr. and Betty Cummings Phillips. He served his country proudly and retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. Mr. Phillips was employed with the Troup County Board of Education as an Information Technologist and was an Elder of Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Catherine Eileen Phillips; father, Col. (Retired) Shepperd Hardy Phillips Jr.; mother, Betty Cummings Phillips, three daughters; Ginger Phillips (Brian) Kraft, Amy Phillips (Andre’) Bethea, Toby Phillips (Clint) Goss; son, Shepperd Hardy (Tiffany) Phillips, IV; brother, Bart (Ellen) Phillips; two sisters; Emily Phillips Johnson and Betsy Phillips (Jeff) Batts; nine grandchildren, Chandler Kraft, Austin Kraft, Gavin Goss, Hunter Goss, Jacob Goss, Khloe’ Bethea, Noah Lindsey, Analee Sanford, Willow Phillips; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Meg Jackson-Clark officiating. The Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 9:00am until 11:00 am prior to services. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church, 1244 Wares Cross Road, LaGrange, GA 30240, in memory of Mr. Phillips.
