She was born in Gulf Port, MS to the late William Sidney Raborn and Helen Taquino Raborn.
Susan was the beloved wife of Gary Powell for 32 years. Her life was defined by her devotion to her family, faith and friends. She was a kind, loving, creative soul and shared a special bond with her family through the love of sewing and crafting. Over the years, Susan made many handmade gifts for family, friends and for those in need. She worked tirelessly making matching sets of everything for her twin granddaughters whom she loved dearly. She was an active and devoted church member, and her deep and grounded faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident to all who were blessed to know her. Susan was joyful amidst her recent illness and achieved her life’s mission to declare the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).
She will be remembered with love, gratitude and admiration for her remarkable life of faith, service, and dedication to her family and church.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Francis Powell; daughter, Shanda (John) Andrews of Peachtree City; granddaughters, Katherine and Madeline Andrews; stepchildren, Leland Powell, Jennifer (Blake) Houchin; four step grandchildren, four sisters, and four great grandchildren,
