Tamlin Hall

Mr. Hall was born December 1, 1924 in the Big Springs Community, LaGrange, GA, son of the late Enoch Marvin Hall and Laura Jones Hall. He was a member of Big Springs United Methodist Church all of his life, having been baptized as an infant. There he served in a number of positions on the Administrative Council and was supportive of the church activities and mission works. Mr. Hall graduated from Rosemont High School and attended Abraham Baldwin College. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed at the outpost in Greenland from January 1944 until March 1946. Mr. Hall was employed with Troup EMC (now Diversepower) from April 1, 1946 til January 1987, serving as Right-of-Way Foreman for 39 years before retiring. Mr. Hall married the love of his life, Mrs. Mary Nell Bailey on March 2, 1947. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a loving step-father, Neil Dowe Hall, who was his father from 1929 until his death in 1980.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Nell Hall; sons, Charles (Jan) Hall of LaGrange, GA; and Marvin (Diane) Hall of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Emily (Wendell) Brewton of Warner Robins, GA, Tamlin (Esti) Hall of Los Angeles, CA, Laura (Michael) Talley of Boone, NC, Daniel (Natalie) Hall of Wilmington, NC, and Timothy Hall of Bluffton, SC; great grandchildren, Bethany, Hannah, Conner, and Addison Brewton all of Warner Robins, GA and Audrey, Emily, and Bailey Talley all of Boone, NC.

The gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Striffler- Hamby Mortuary. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Big Springs Methodist Church with Rev. Kerry Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery.
