I was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Dr. Murphy. His wisdom and guidance has had a lasting effect on my professional and academic career. While serving as his IT manager at Lagrange College during the 1990’s, his visionary support enabled students and staff to achieve all things possible. Sincere condolences to his family. - Dr. Steve Reynolds

Fond memories of him Quail hunting and Turkey hunting with my Dad...the funny stories like when he thought he heard a lonesome hen over the hill when it was just my Dad using the turkey caller; and going to pick him and my Dad and two bird dogs up in my Echo when the hunting truck broke down...rest in peace Dr. Murphy...

LaGrange College is a part of me. I obtained a B.A. in Religion in 1991 and a Masters very recently. My wife is also an alumnus and we both currently serve on the Alumni Executive Board. Walter Murphy through his dedicated service and leadership expanded the educational, ethical and philanthropic footprint of LaGrange College far beyond the hill and in doing so laid the foundation for those to follow.

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the entire Murphy family. I have many happy memories of Dr. and Mrs. Murphy during our years at Andrew College. I am grateful for his friendship through the years and the many contributions he made to both Andrew College and LaGrange College. He will surely be missed.
