William Lewis Herrington Jr.

William Lewis (Bill) Herrington Jr. age 83, passed away on January 3, 2026 in Newnan, Georgia. He was born on September 12, 1942 in LaGrange Georgia to William Lewis (Bill) Herrington, Sr and Mary Ellen Travis Herrington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Travis Herrington and brother-in-law Bob Garrard. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Verlinda Bullard Herrington, a sister, Ann Garrard, brother Clark Herrington(Polly), two children, Traci Harman (John), Todd Herrington(Melissa) and 10 grandchildren , Drew Harman(Melissa), Sarah Beth King(Dylan), Lindsey Thomas (Jacob), Jeff Harman, Alex Harman, Austin Thomas, Rachel Thomas, Mary Ansley Herrington, Holley Stewart, Lyla Herrington, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bill was a graduate of LaGrange High School, class of 1960. He attended LaGrange College and was an Army Veteran. He worked for many years at West Point Pepperell, Seamco, Gusto Brands, Hughes Aircraft, West Georgia Medical center, Troup Tech and several hotels.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow. A graveside service will be held afterward at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
