We regretfully announce the passing of William Carroll Latham, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Carroll is survived by his wife of 27 years Sharon Poindexter Latham, his daughter Whitney Latham Mallory and her husband Commander Peter Mallory of the U.S. Navy, his stepson James Poindexter Evans and his wife Elizabeth Dismukes Evans, his stepdaughter Jennifer Evans Cook and her husband Matthew Cook; six granddaughters, a great grandson, and a great granddaughter.
Carroll born November 26, 1946, in Jefferson City, Tennessee and has been a resident of LaGrange, GA for 35 years. Carroll was a faithful member of First Baptist Church on the Square and an active member of the Builder’s Sunday School class.
Carroll attended the University of Tennessee and later served in the U.S. Army Emancipation program as an interpreter during the Vietnam War. Carroll was an avid sportsman and competitive golfer. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends.
Carroll was predeceased by his parents Jack and Otha Latham and his sister, Jackie. Striffler Hamby in Lagrange will be handling the family’s private service.
