Willie Charles Cavender

Willie was born October 14, 1950 in Randolph County, AL, son of the late Alma Cavender and Myrtis Traylor Cavender. He was employed with Newberry Industrial Services and was Baptist by faith. Willie was an avid coon hunter and was a member of the Lake West Point Coon Hunter’s Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sticher, and two brothers, Otis Cavender and Jimmy Cavender.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Ussery Cavender; children, William (April) Cavender, Amanda (Joseph) Beesley, Andrea Lynn Cavender, and Christopher William Cavender; grandchildren, Alexis Cavender (Lee Henson), William Cavender, Jr., Khloe Cavender, Jacob Beesley, and Emily Beesley; great granddaughter, Charlee Elizabeth Henson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace Ussery, Doyle (Melba) Ussery, Norman (Jonna) Ussery, Albert (Alice) Ussery, Vernon (Denise) Ussery; sisters, Patricia McRae and Rhonda Griffin; and numerous nieces and nephews; and special thanks to Jimmy Brown and the Newberry Industrial Services family.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Robert Longshore officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
