Zelma Daniel

Mrs. Daniel was born June 18, 1928 in Franklin, GA, to the late Robert “Bob” Nelms and Willie Lee Lipham Nelms.

Mrs. Daniel worked forty years in various textile plants of Callaway and Milliken. She was a life-long member of Harmony Methodist church of Franklin, GA and Hillcrest Methodist Church of Hogansville, GA, where she served faithfully for many years. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Thomas “Tommy” Daniel; three brothers, Dovard Nelms, Harold Nelms, and Douglas “Jet” Nelms; her only sister, Louise Nelms Daniel; and her son, Dariel Daniel.

Mrs. Daniel is survived by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Nelms of LaGrange, GA; two sons Thomas Daniel of Silverthorne, CO; and John Michael Daniel of Ooltewah, TN; four grandchildren, Brian Daniel of Chicago, IL; Brittany Daniel Lamb of Hoover, AL; Kristen Daniel Brady of Senoia, GA; and Dustin “Dusty” Daniel of LaGrange, GA; six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10 A. M until service time at 11:00 A.M in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Randy Nix and Reverend Gary Parish officiating. A Private burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 371 South Grayson Trail, Hogansville, GA 30230 in memory of Zelma Daniel.
