Alva Edwina Savoie

Alva was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church of Scotland. She will be remembered for her talent of cooking and baking. She also enjoyed “Sister Day” as well as anytime with her siblings and loved to dote on her grandchildren. She and Kenner loved reading “Clovis the Crawfish” together.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Leonard D. Savoie, her parents; Arthmond and Alice Conner, brother; Clifford Conner, sisters; Dorothy Bonsall, Veda Boudreaux.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Mitchell Savoie, Christine Leonard and Angie Vincent and husband Burt all of Lake Charles, grandchildren; Amanda Leonard, Kellie Gaspard, Brooke and Tyler Vincent, Hannah and Casey Savoie, great grandchild; Kenner Gaspard, brothers; Adam “T-June” Conner, John “Bud” Conner and wife Brenda, sisters; Ella Mae “Sis” Duhon and husband J.L., Margie Savoie and Emma Jean Crochet and husband Leroy, BFF sister-in-law; Martha Conner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 2pm at St. Margaret Catholic Church of Scotland. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Visitation will begin Monday at 10am until time of service, with a rosary at 11am at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the sitters who provided care for their mother during her 5 years of illness.
