

Amanda Johnson Self, age 98, of Lake Charles passed away November 22, 2015. Amanda played bridge all of her life. She was a Life Master, and was still building points. She enjoyed the competition and friendships in the local club. Amanda was the owner of Sel-Mart businesses since 1953. She was always looking for new adventures. She was part of the LSU Rifle Team. She was also one of the first residents at the Veranda.
Amanda is survived by one son David Self and wife Elizabeth Anne of Lake Charles, one daughter, “Randy” Eleanor Self of Kentucky, niece Carey Overton Randell of Florida, niece Mary Lou Johnson of Texas, three grandchildren Paul David Self Jr., Elizabeth Anna Self, Carey Amanda Rohrbeck, two great grandchildren Elizabeth Mainer and Ruth Rohrbeck.
Preceded in death by husband Paul D. Self, parents Robert Johnson and Mary Carey, two brothers Gerald Johnson and Porter Johnson, and one sister Mary Lou Overton.
