Barbara was one of three children born to Clarence and Betty Landon in Kansas City, Missouri on November 20, 1946. She was a graduate of Westlake High School, class of 1969 then earned a degree in Instrumentation.
She resided in Westlake, LA and was a proud, dutiful mother to her children; Bill Williamson, Brent Williamson, Betty Avery and Julie LeJeune.
In 1976 she married Ronald McGuire, welcoming his two children; Rhonda and Michelle as her own. She was a hardworking, dedicated wife and mother, ensuring her family were taken care of. She found joy in caring for her family, her beloved dogs and anyone else who needed it. In her down time, when she was not using her season pass, reclined back in her favorite seat of the movie theatre, she would enjoy watching movies and TV at home, Law & Order being one of her favorites.
Upon retirement, her and Ronald made Woodville, TX their home. Although retired she did not slow down a bit, she loved the country living. If she was not busy riding the acres of her property or visiting her animals, she would be pampering herself and others at the nail and hair salons or slowing down just enough to enjoy a good massage and the good conversations accompanying her outings. She was a food critic to all her favorite restaurants, when she found something she loved, she didn't stray from it.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Bill (Kristin) Williamson and Brent Williamson; four daughters, Rhonda (Andrew) Johnson, Betty (Grant) Avery, Julie (Ben) LeJeune, and Michelle (Shannon) Moses; grandchildren, Charles, Grace, Nathanial, Jason, Chelsea, Jamie, Trevor, Mark, Cody, Sasha, Joshua, Alex, Chloie, Fallon, Carley, Emily; 16 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Cynthia Johnson and Susan Manual.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 35 years, Ronald McGuire and her parents.
The family will welcome friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Hixson of Lake Charles from 10am until time of service in the Chapel of Peace, with funeral services beginning at 1pm with a graveside gathering to follow. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest next to Ronald at Highland Memorial Gardens at a later date.
