

Beatrice “Bee” Thibodeaux Hicks, passed away at the age of 90, on April 23, 2013. She was a native of Roanoke and Welsh area. She was a resident of Lake Charles since 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Charles. During her life she worked at Gordon Jewelers, Mullers, and Montgomery Ward. She also was an agent for First National Life and Commonwealth Life Insurance Companies. She also was a nurse’s assistant at Sowela Tech. Bee was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and baker. Her greatest joy was cooking for family and friends. She also was a caregiver to many people. During her high school years she played basketball and tennis.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Gary Knippers of Lake Charles and Darell Knippers and wife, Dina of Vinton; step son, Leo Hicks; grandchildren, Dayna Holden, Twyla Broussard, Lisa Brening, Knic Knippers, Kris Knippers and Amanda Marshall; great grandchildren, Dave Holden, Derick Holden, Devan Holden, Chole Broussard, Andrea Broussard, Justin Brening, Whitney Willams, Dr. Monique Soileau Burkie and Cameron Brening; step grandsons, Jake and Josh Hicks; 3 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George H. Hicks; son, Lynn Knippers; parents, Joseph Olean Thibodeaux and Lizeda LeBlanc Thibodeaux; 2 brothers, Ervin Thibodeaux and Jay Thibodeaux and 1 sister, Thelma Gary.
Her funeral will be 11:00am, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will begin Friday 4pm-8pm and resume Saturday 8:00am until service time.
