Bertha Racca

LAKE CHARLES - Bertha Racca, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 11, 1923 in Welsh, LA to Darius and Aglia Manuel.

Bertha was a homemaker, who took such loving care of her husband, children, and their home. She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden in her spare time. She will be remembered forever and missed greatly.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Malinda Lavergne of Denham Springs, LA; sons, Carl Racca and wife, Velina of Iowa and Kurt Racca and wife, Phyllis of Lake Charles; daughter-in-law, Helen Racca of Austin, TX; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Racca, Sr., son, Clovis Racca, Jr., great-grandson, James Nicholson, great-great-granddaughter, Marlee Hodge; parents, Darius and Aglia Manuel, three sisters, Laura Chaline, Sarah Simon, and Olivia LeBert, and two brothers, Edward Manuel and Emile Manuel.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Hixson Funeral Chapel in Lake Charles. Rev. Nathan Nazworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service all at the funeral home.
