Bessie B. DeCook

She was born in Bastrop, LA, raised in Baton Rouge and lived in Lake Charles. She was active in the American Legion Auxillary. Bessie worked for Abe’s Grocery for 39 years as an accountant. She was compassionate, loving and very driven. Her family was the most important part of her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda DeCook Colletta DeMarie of Moss Bluff; Amy DeCook Moore of Moss Bluff; four grandchildren, Kent Colletta , Tony Colletta , Monica Moore Reid and Chad Moore; also, Kent’s wife Anetta, Tony’s wife Rhonda, Monica’s husband Brian and Chad’s wife Stacey and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Andrew Louis “Bud” DeCook, parents, James and Emmy Willis Brabham.

Services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Msgr. Danny Torres will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm and resume Wednesday at 9:00am until time of service. Burial will follow at Lacassine Cemetery.
