She was a native of Church Point and had been a resident of Iowa for the last 70 years, coming from Elton. Bessie, affectionately known as "Momo", enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, playing cards and dominos with her neighbors and family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former owner and operator of Pak-A-Snack grocery/convenience store in Iowa. Bessie was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Robert "Bob" Foreman and wife, Florence of Ragley/Moss Bluff, John Foreman of Ragley/Iowa, Linda Fusilier of Sulphur, Gail Foreman of Iowa, and Dinah Migues and husband, Danny of Fenton; her brothers, Homer Janice of Amarillo, Texas and Shelby Janice of Thibodaux; ten grandchildren, Rachel Foreman, Jill Crain, Scott Foreman, Robin Foreman, Pamela Greenmun, David Fusilier, Dr. Kris Foreman, Doy Reed, Andrew Fusilier, and Devon Migues; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Joshua and Joseph Crain, Seth and Callie Foreman, Jaxon and Cecilia John, Katie and Samantha Greenmun, Riley and Blake Fusilier, Camron and Bailey Reed, and Benjamin and Sophia Foreman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Utley "U.S." Foreman; daughter-in-law, Wanda "Dot" Foreman; son-in-law, Andy Fusilier; brothers, Mentor and Henry Janice; sister, Sophie Vizena; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Vincent.
A Celebration of Bessie's Life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 25, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Iowa. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
