Cassie was born on September 5, 1970, in Welsh, Louisiana, to Mark and Priscilla Brown who has preceded her in death.
Cassie dedicated her life to her faith, her daughters, and her family. She had a passion for cooking and baking, reading, planning gatherings, and all things beautiful. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters: Lisa Sonnier, Priscilla Jones, and Celia Jones; and her six grandchildren: Sofia, Naya, Eli, Makai, D’Ondre, and Asher; husband, Mark Anthony Cook; children, Mark A. Cook, Jr, Markena Cook, Mark A. Cook III, Ja'Markus A Cook, and Mar'Kese Thomas Cook; along with a host of extended family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Cassie graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School and attended First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was the owner and baker of Chatterbox Baking, where she shared her love and creativity through her work.
She will be remembered for her naturally flushed cheeks, twinkling ocean eyes, contagious smile, and most importantly, her unwavering love for Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Brown will officiate. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.
