Mr. Griffin was a wonderful man who gave me my first job at Patio Gardens when I was 16 back in 1978. There were so many things that I learned from him during the years that I worked for him. Everything from learning how to perform a job and what would be expected from me throughout my life to that green thumb that I still remember to this day. The things he knew about plants amazed me, and he was patient enough to teach a kid that didn't know anything about work. Even though I've grown up and much older now, I thank you, Mr. Griffin, for all that you taught this kid. You will be forever in my heart and never forgotten.

During the brief months in which we had the privilege of knowing Charlie Griffin he made a wonderful impression on us. His genuine Christian kindness and demeanor was truly a testimony to his love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Our prayers will continue to go up to our Lord on behalf of Letha, as well as for Michael and Becky in their loss.

Until recently I was program chairman for the monthly meetings of the Senior adults at Moss Bluff First Baptist Church. A few years ago I invited Charlie to be our speaker. I waited at the door for his arrival. We all thought he looked like “Colonel Sanders”. On that particular day in he stepped in his white suit and hat. He said, “I thought I would dress the part!” We really enjoyed him, and I will always remember that special day! Charlie is now with his Lord!

Charlie was a great friend to me & to my family when I served as his pastor. He had the best interest of the church at heart, was kind, and helpful each time I interacted with him. He and Letha will hold a special place in my heart. I am grateful for friends and church members like Charlie Griffin.
