He was born in Dermott, Arkansas and lived in Sulphur. Charles was a Construction Superintendent for Charles Miller Construction and retired from the Carpenters Local. Charles was a veteran of the US Army serving in Japan and Korea. During his service he received the Army Occ Medal (Japan), Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Korean Service Medal with 6 Bronze Service Stars, President Unit Citation (ROK) and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, the VFW post 2130 and the DAV. Charles supported his children growing up, by serving as a Boy Scout leader and a baseball coach. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Tucker of Lake Charles; sons, Don Tucker and wife Susan of Houston, TX, Ronnie Tucker and wife, Annette of Sulphur; Roger Tucker and wife, Audette of Lake Charles and Chris Tucker of Dickerson, TX; daughter, Carolyn Simmons and husband, Billy of Moss Bluff; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 5pm-9pm and will resume on Saturday from 8am until service time which starts at 10am.
