

He was born in Gueydan and he was a lifelong resident of Louisiana. Curtis worked in the oil field and was able to travel all over the world. He loved to pick fun with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Nunez; sons, Ellis Nunez and wife Debbie of Grangerville and Dwayne Nunez and wife Tammy of Grangerville; daughters, Brenda Guillot of New Orleans, Connie Belaire of Lake Charles, and Therese Johnson and husband Don of Lake Charles; brothers, Rudolph Nunez, George Nunez, Dennis Nunez, Kenneth Nunez, Jerry Nunez and Brent Nunez; sister, Paula Benoit; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Nunez and Ruby Newton; son, Jody Nunez; and sisters, Frances Miller and Jeanette Poole.
His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. His internment will follow the service at Grand Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 and will resume at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
