David was a native of Pineville and a resident of Calcasieu Parish for the last 29 years. He was a brick mason for Vigo Masonry in Lake Charles. David was an avid outdoorsman, especially when he was fishing and also enjoyed watching NASCAR, the San Francisco 49ers and was an awesome cook. His family and friends will remember David for being extremely patient with children and his passion was being with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, David James Ashworth, Derreck Dewayne Ashworth, Ivan Lee Ashworth, Brooklyn Janell Hernandez and husband, Francisco, and Devin Carl Ashworth; five grandchildren, Julianna Hernandez, Charlee Ashworth, Tanner Ashworth, Avery Ashworth, and Henry Pevytoe; wife Jamie Ashworth; and brother, Roy Ashworth, Jr. and wife, Louella.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Zena Beebe Ashworth.
The family will welcome relatives and friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles beginning at 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton.
