David Lute

A Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 300 North Blake Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601, for David Lute, 85, who passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Landmark of Lake Charles.

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 8:00 am until the time of service, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 300 North Blake Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.

Reverend Lannis Joseph, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Cameron in Lake Charles, will officiate.

David loved going to church as a deacon, reading his Bible and enjoyed watching sports on television. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps. David worked for Omega Protein, Inc. for over 30 years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Melrose Guillory Lute of Lake Charles; four children, David Wayne and his wife, Terrie of Lafayette, Granvel Keith Lute and his wife, Yolanda, Kent Zachary Lute and Denise Lute Gregory and her husband, Raymond, all of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice LeBlanc Lute; two brothers, Whitney Bishop and Albert Lute and three sisters, Rose Webb, Mary Young and Alberta Garrett.
