Della Faye Johnson, 80, of Lake Charles, walked to the door of Heaven and was greeted by her Savior and loved ones on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Evans and Rosalie Cranford on June 5, 1941 in Lake Charles, LA.
Della enjoyed volunteering at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, serving people, and sharing the gospel. She retired from Conoco Refinery in 1994, where she supervised the travel department and planned events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
She is survived by her son, G. Wade Johnson (Debbie) of Houston, TX; daughter, Melanie Blackmer (Leo) of Lake Charles; brother, James E. Cranford (Mary) of Deer Park, TX; three grandchildren, Valen, Jacob (Katie), and Evan; great granddaughter, Saige; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Della is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert W. Johnson; brother, Kenneth Cranford; and three sisters, Brenda Ramsey, Claudia Cranford, and Pansy Cook.
A Celebration of Della's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 3:00pm, with Bro. Henry Latesta officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Kinder McRill Memorial Cemetery in Kinder.
The family would like to extend it's heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice and mom's sweet caregivers for all of the love, care, and compassion they showed her and her family through this time.
