Diane was a native of Opelousas and lifelong resident of Moss Bluff. She was a graduate of "The Louisiana School for the Deaf" class of 1969 and then went on to "Ronnie and Dorman Hair of Beauty". Diane married her husband Roland Crader on December 16, 1980. She worked for Gillis Elementary School for 11 years when she retired to care for her husband. Diane enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was one of the New Orlean's Saints #1 Fans. The biggest memory of her will be her greeting you with a big smile and hug.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Stacey Richard and husband Ronald of Opelousas, Cody Crader and wife Jamie of Sulphur and Veronica "Roni" Doucett and husband Rodney of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Megan Comeaux, Amber Morvant, Kelsye Crader, Kaden Crader, Colton Doucett, Camden Doucett, and Carly Doucett; great grandchildren, Abelynn Comeaux, Evariste Morvant and Maven Comeaux; brothers, Tommy Ortego and wife Wilma, Russell Ortego and wife Laura, Timmy Ortego and wife Liz, and Tony Ortego and wife Juli; and sisters, Debbie Broussard and husband Bobby, Peggy Faul and husband Mike, Sheila Dupre and husband Billy, and Joann Castania and husband Jimmy.
She was welcomed in heaven by her parents; and husband Roland Crader.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Thursday, March 24, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 until the procession leaves for the church at 1:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Theodore Catholic Church on Friday, March 26, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be immediately following at Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate at the services.
