Dolores has lived in Lake Charles her entire life. She was a 1946 graduate of LaGrange High School and co-founded the LG Gatorette marching squad in 1945 with her best friend. A former assistant Bluebird leader, she also worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Sorrells, Sr. and a pink lady at Memorial Hospital. In the 1940’s she worked as a salesperson at Kress Department Store. Activity in the FK White Jr. High and LaGrange Senior High P.T.A and Athletic Booster Clubs symbolized her support for her children. Dolores was a member of the Lake Charles Viking Motorcycle Club where she rode a 1947 Harley Davidson knuckle-head with her husband. She was an active member at Friendship Baptist Church.
Dolores real legacy was her love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who will cherish her memory throughout their lives. Her greatest accomplishment was in 1974 when she trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a Richard Hogue crusade.
