Donald Eugene Langston

Donald Eugene Langston, 88, of Lake Charles, LA. died on November 23, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Don was born in Aplington, IA to Lawrence and Anna Langston. He moved to Louisiana after serving in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He met and married the love of his life, Geri Bass Langston and resided in the Lake Charles area for 65 years. He retired from the Firestone plant after 35 years of service.

Don is survived by his spouse of 66 years, Geri, one son Lawrence Langston and wife Gay of Dripping Springs, TX, daughters Diana Shirley and husband Jerry and daughter Charlotte Langston all of Lake Charles. Grandchildren include Lauren Alexander (Michael) and Lisa Torres (Alfonso) of Austin, TX, Jordan Hinton of Dallas, TX, and Chelsea Carlson (Jeremy) of Lake Charles, LA. He was preceded in death by grandson Daniel Hinton. Great grandchildren are Nicole and Garrett Alexander, Aiden and Chloe Torres, and Rylee Carlson. He also leaves a special friend his dog, Harley “poor baby”.

Funeral services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Thomas Williams of St Luke Simpson UMC will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hixson in Lake Charles on Friday Nov. 27th. Burial will be at New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
