Donald was a man of God who was a devoted husband and father. He worked for Polaris Engineering and Construction, Myrson Corporation, Jacobs Engineering, and URS Corporation as a lead Civil Engineer. In his spare time he enjoyed watching car races. Donald also was a great artist. He loved to draw everything, but was especially fond of drawing cartoons.
He was preceded in death by his father, Julis Meyer and wife, Gertie, and mother, Elenor Shidlo Nelson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Carlotta Meyer; son, Dustin Mason Meyer, daughter, Savannah Rose Meyer, brother, Russ Meyer and wife, Jackie, sister, Diane Meyer, sister, Autum Nelson, nephews, Andrew, Rusty, and Donovan, and a niece, Julia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Hixson Funeral Chapel of Lake Charles. Rev. Terry Ardizzone will officiate.
