Douglas was born in Lake Charles, La and was a graduate of Barbe High School. He was a musician and played bass guitar. Douglas was a member of the Lil Alfred and the Streak band and he also played in several other bands.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Champagne and Mergene Brasseaux.
Douglas is survived by his brother, Glen Champagne and wife Yalit of Baytown, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
