

Edith was born July 23, 1926 in Carson, LA. She was the fourth born of eight children of the late Seab and Belle Rogers of DeRidder, LA. Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She grew up in Singer- DeRidder area. She married H.C. Taylor of DeQuincy, LA; they moved to Lake Charles and raised their children.
Edith worked for Muller’s, Riffs, and the White House as a cosmetic department manager. Edith was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church and attended Westlake Pentecostals in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Taylor; son, Gary Lynn Taylor; her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Edith “Edye” Sue Trahan and husband, David L. of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Theresa Taylor of Houston, TX, Regina Fontenot of Lake Charles, Michael Taylor and wife, Jackie of Lake Charles, Cory Trahan and wife, Veronica Denise of San Antonio, TX, Angela Taylor of Lake Charles, Dawn Williamson and husband, Dr. Michael Williamson of Lake Charles, and Melisa Kendrick of Beaumont, TX; thirteen great-grandchildren, Cody Fontenot, Courtney Virrill, Jacob Daigle, Ashley Fontenot, Triston Trahan, Zachary Daigle, Michael Kendrick, Dylan Kendrick, Devan Kendrick, Ryan Taylor, Brandon Fontenot, Noah Williamson, and Samuel Williamson; four great-great- grandchildren, Cheyene Virrill, Antonio Virrill, Mason Fontenot, and Owen Kendrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her Life will be held 1:00pm Monday, January 20, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is from 5:00- 8:00pm Sunday, January 19, and resume Monday 8am until service time at the funeral home. Drew Fontenot, Chaplain of Brighton Bridge will officiate. Burial will be Crown Pointe Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ryan Taylor, Triston Trahan, Jacob Daigle, Zach Daigle, Dylan Kendrick, Devan Kendrick, Brandon Fontenot, and Cody Fontenot.
