Mrs. Richard was married to Leslie R. Richard and was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron; member of the Cameron Parish Home Demonstration Club in Cameron, LA. where she resided for many years until moving to Lake Charles after her husband retired from the Cameron Parish Assessor's office. She and her husband were members of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church after moving to Lake Charles and were contributors to Villa Marie Retirement Home. She was also a huge contributor to McNeese State University, where she set up Grant Funds for McNeese students, especially Cameron Parish students. She was also a huge supporter of St. Patrick's Hospital.
She leaves her memories to three nieces by marriage, Kala Billedeaux, Carolyn Daniels, and Clarice LaFosse; cousins, Freda Van Hook and Brian Askew and others. She also leaves her cherished memories to her devoted sitters, Jodi Allen, Sandy Oliver, Tommie Lou Sumpter, and Heart of Hospice Nurses.
She is preceded by her parents, Ira and Lockett Singletary; her husband of 50 years, Leslie R. Richard; niece, Theresa Mudd; and great nephew, Gregory Mudd.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00am at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Reverend Monsignor Harry D. Greig will officiate. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 8:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
