Elton "Ej" Joseph Thibodeaux Jr.

Born in Welsh, LA EJ lived most of his life in Lake Charles, was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, and was a retired sales supervisor with almost 50 years of service for Bordeons of Lake Charles. He loved fishing and cooking for family and friends. He was a wood worker and a perfectionist when it came to building or making repairs. He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Manuel; father, Elton J. Thibodeaux Sr.; mother, Eliza “Sweet” Newman; stepfather Eulice Newman; brothers, Roland Newman, Charles Newman; and sister, Jean Newman; and his beloved friend Doris Willis.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Carolyn Joyce Woods(Randy) of Ethel, LA, Crystal Giovani(John) of Lake Charles, and Aaron Thibodeaux and friend Katrina of Deridder, along with two grandchildren; additionally by one sister, Joyce Newman Cooper; brothers, Clifford Newman, Curtiss Newman, and Terry Newman all of Lake Charles.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday January 29, 2018 from 4pm to 9pm, with a rosary at 6pm in the Hixson Chapel. Visitation will resume at 9am Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2pm in the Hixson Chapel with Father Marcus Johnson from St. Margaret Catholic Church officiating with burial to follow at Consolota Cemetery.
