Just wanted to stop by and say that we loved Mrs. Powell.  She was my 2nd grade teacher at Riverside and she also use to bring my little brother to church with her every Sunday. She would drive all the way from her house near 5th Avenue to Simmons St. (North Lake Charles) to pick him up.  We appreciated everything that she taught us and did for us.  I wish that I could tell her that one more time.  Before I moved away from LC I used to stop by and visit her.  Well, thank you to the family for sharing her with us.  She is missed.

I remembered when she will ask me to go visit her at  home  and whenever I agreed she will says to me " you promise?"
Ms Powell now that you are with Jesus in your heavenly home, I can still hear you asking me the same question and I still say yes, I promise I will go!

Praying that all her family and friends find peace and comfort knowing that she is in heaven watching down on them.

She was such a blessing to my family and so many in Lake Charles. (Rine Family in Fort Worth, Texas)

What a wonderful person she was ...my first grade teacher...I had the pleasure of running into her in Walmart around the holidays..How proud she was of all her kids and her faith ..prayers to all of you

i remember at 13 years old going to her house with Lou Wanna Faulk....And her asking if i knew the Lord...then i met her again at Glad Tidings,,Some things you never forget when young....She was always special to me...i went to her advice about things i got confused about..lovely lady and beautiful...

She will definitely be missed but not forgotten.My condolences to all the family who loved her dearly.She has been a blessing to me.

Aunt Louise, You have always been an inspiration to me. From tutoring my brother, Scott, in the first grade, when he was run over by a road grader to designing and making my wedding cake. I always enjoyed our talks. I so admired you growing up. An awesome, talented, Christian mentor. I will not forget you. May God comfort and give your children and siblings strength and peace.
