Ernest Joseph Citizen, age 73, of Oberlin, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born to Rena Citizen on July 31, 1951 in Rayne, LA.

Ernest was a lifelong resident of Oberlin, LA. He worked for 28 years as a crane operator for Diamond M.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Beverly Williams, Sheri Williams, Carl Williams, Joseph Citizen (Jessica), Eric Citizen (Anna), David Citizen (Jamie), DeMarcus Citizen, Kizzy Citizen, Anqunetta Citizen, Dominique Citizen, Gerald Citizen (Brooklyn) and Cheyenne Citizen; 50 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Rena Lavan (George); wife, Miller Citizen; and daughters, Sally Williams and Mya Sam.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Saturday, March 8, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John Community Cemetery in Kinder. Pastor Rudell Kirklin will officiate at the services.

Pallbearers will be David Citizen, Gerald Citizen, Cheyenne Citizen, Joseph Williams, Dewayne Williams, and Dennis Moore. Honorary pallbearer will be Cory Artis.
