Faye was a descendant of Jean Villeor Theriot, a pioneer family in Cameron Parish. She was born in Creole, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She graduated from Lake Charles High School and Business School in Boston. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Temple Sinai sisterhood, past president of Temple Sinai and a board member of the Temple. Faye retired as an Administrative Assistant in the Welfare Department of the State of LA. She volunteered for the Women’s Shelter, Southwest LA Aids Council and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She was a past member of LA Cajun Campers, a member of the American Legion auxiliary, American Cancer Society and Bosom Buddy Cancer Support group. Faye received Woman of the Year award from the Women’s commission.
She is survived by her nieces, Janet S. Calzada, Barbara Peck, Paula Metts and husband Richard, nephew, Rick Toerner and wife Sally and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Barnhart, son, David Barnhart, her parents, Earl and Eucharist Katherine Toerner, sisters, Bertha Stoner and Doris Wiegmann, brothers, Paul, John Eugene and David Toerner.
