Florine Marie Leger

(1928-2016)

Florine Leger, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016. She loved gardening, and loved her roses and her flowers. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was very faithful to her church. She was a member of the church choir, the Ladies Altar Society and the Holmwood Rosary Group. She also was a catechism teacher, and helped out at early church bazaars. She had a very deep love for her family and was a great cook. Florine enjoyed family gatherings and get togethers.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Fontenot, Winnie Primeaux and husband David, and Amanda Leger; daughter in law, Barbara Leger. Also surviving, are her 10 grandchildren, Kevin Leger, Karen Wild; Kirk Fontenot, Kim Fontenot, Ricky Fontenot, and Pam Fontenot; Trish Manuel, and Ryan Primeaux; Mandy Leger and Wesley Trahan, 24 great grandchildren, Everett, Ethan, Grant, Jillian, Kate, Rachel, Gabriel, and Stuart Wild; Nick, Brandon, and Derrick Fontenot; Ty Fontenot; Noelle Arabie and Jacob Fontenot; Gavin Leger and Gracie Manuel; Hunter and Hayden Primeaux; Ryland, Collin, and Emma Leger; Cole, Iry, and Ian Trahan, 2 great great grandchildren, Baylor Begnaud, and Zella Wild.

Florine is preceded in death by her loving husband Cyril Leger of 66 years, her parents, Isidore and Beatrice (LeDoux) Comeaux, son, Whitney Joseph Leger, granddaughter, Sharon Leger, and a son in law, Jimmy C. Fontenot.

Services will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 10:00am until 9:00pm with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Lacassine Cemetery.
