Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Patricia Willis Bethea (Elvin) and Stacy Willis Kirkum; grandchildren, Gregory Kirkum, Nicholas Kirkum, Dawn Armelin Hillsman, Wayne Mark Armelin II, and Patrick Armelin; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
A Scripture Service will begin in the Chapel of Lilys at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery, 2220 Country Club Road, Lake Charles.
Fond memFrancis Gregorie Willis Jr., age 87, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving daughters on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Francis was born in Basile, Louisiana on April 10, 1936 to Francis G. Willis, Sr. and Lovenia Victorian Willis.
Francis was a faithful member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for over 20 years. He was an Usher and a Member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked for PPG Industries for 32 years. He enjoyed rodeos, horses, woodworking, and watching old westerns on TV. Francis loved playing the guitar, dancing to Zydeco music, and traveling, but he most especially loved spending time with his grandkids!
