Gavin will be remembered as a loving son who was always making people laugh with his naturally funny sense of humor. He had a smile that could light up any room and a heart of gold. Gavin was genuinely kind and caring, always willing to do anything for anyone. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His kindness and generosity were simply part of who he was. Gavin shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Lillie, who was not only his loyal companion but also his very best friend. His laughter, loving heart, and the joy he brought to those around him will forever be remembered by everyone who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Troy Carlin and Kellie Davy Carlin; siblings, Cameron Corder (Annie) and Heidi Bertrand (Matthew); nephew, Simon Corder; maternal grandparents, Charlene "Nanny" Vice and Mike "Grandpie" Davy; paternal grandmother, Sharon "Grandma" Carlin; aunts and uncles, Princess Tanya, Gerald Carlin, and Todd Carlin, Kim Davy, and Shelley Caldwell; and a host of cousins.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, October 26, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. The very Rev. Paul Jussen will officiate at the services.
