Gay Evelyn Riquelmy

She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, where her catholic faith sustained her throughout her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Gay’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with her pokeeno friends. She was employed by Wal-Mart for many years as a cashier and just recently retired.

She is survived by son, Glen Riquelmy and wife Melissa; daughter, Julie Smith and husband Daniel; brother, Delen Hay and wife Fayla; sister, Pam Williamson; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kylie Smith, Landon and Clint Riquelmy. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Walter Riquelmy; infant son, Neil Patrick Riquelmy; parents, Delen Guy Hay, Sr. and Mary Helen Stansel Hay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Rev. Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and resume Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.. Burial will follow at Hebert Cemetery in Hecker, LA.
