Georgia A Heyd

Georgia A Heyd, age 97, of Iowa, Louisiana passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Georgia was born on September 1, 1927 in Mexia, Texas to Andy Clay Adams and Alma Pewe Adams.

Georgia started school in Luling, Texas before moving to the Lake Charles area in 1932 with her family, was a 1944 graduate of LaGrange High School, and worked as an Office Manager/Bookkeeper until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and was known to bowl over 200 in her 90's, she loved to travel with her family and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Pic" Heyd, her parents, brothers: John Thomas Adams, Clay Odell Adams, & Harold Adams, a sister, Margaret Romero and father of her children, Mitchell Young, Jr.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her son, Scott Young and wife, Peggy; son, Roy Young and wife, Norma; daughter, Susan Cole; grandchildren, Juanita Toups, Scotty Young (Amy), Angela Cole (Randy), Brent Cole (Trisha), and Robert Cole (Amber); 16 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Georgia's wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
