Gilbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and was loved by all who knew him. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Germany. He was of the catholic faith and attended Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He was owner of Gilbert Arceneaux Construction Company for over 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Smith Arceneaux, his parents Ervin Arceneaux and Agnes Miller Arceneaux.
Left to cherish his memories are his four daughters; Phyllis Arceneaux of Lake Charles, Geri Cole (Dwayne) of Moss Bluff, Kim Landry of Lake Charles, Jada Guidry (Wayne) of Moss Bluff; brother, Milton Arceneaux of Youngsville, LA; sisters, Mildred Arendt, Alberta O’Brien, Shirley Fontenot all of Lake Charles; six grandchildren and three great grandsons.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and resume Sunday at 8:00 am until time of service. There will be a rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home and officiated by Father Nathan Long.
