Gregory Mudd, age 51, passed away on 7/9/18 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Creole and lived there most of his life before moving to Coulee Jacque. He was a graduate of South Cameron High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Greg worked as a truck driver for Saia. He also was a rancher and cattleman. He loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Manuel Mudd; daughter, Madalyn Mudd of Coulee Jacque, step children whom he loved like his own, Brittany Gaspard and husband Steven of Holmwood; Valarie Boudoin and Jacob Boudoin of Coulee Jacque; father, Alvin Mudd and stepmother, Earline of Cameron; brothers, Kevin Mudd and wife Rene; Mike Mudd and wife Allison of Coulee Jacque; stepbrother, David Dupont and wife Cassie of Moss Bluff; grandchildren Kaden Gaspard, Liam Gaspard, Gage Gaspard, Kenna Gaspard; mother in law, Nola Manuel and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Mudd, his paternal grandparents, Thomas Mudd, Sr., Bernice Mudd and Mildred Mudd, maternal grandparents, Adam and Elma Richard Hebert, maternal grandfather, Carlton Rome, father in law, Mack Manuel, step brother, Craig Dupont, uncles, Kent Mudd and Jerry L. Corley.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Mudd, Mike Mudd, Jacob Boudoin, Steven Gaspard, Ken Mudd, Troy Mudd, Dwayne Boone and Jess Savoie. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kaden, Liam and Gage Gaspard.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 8:00 am.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 12, 2018, 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church located in Creole with Father Wayne LeBleu and Msgr. James Gaddy officiating. Burial will be at Sweetlake – Grand Lake Community Cemetery located in Sweetlake.
