Hazel Ruth Harper Horton

Moss Bluff - Hazel Ruth Harper Horton, 83, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 in a local care facility.

She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for 55 years and now a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff and also a volunteer for the local Women's Shelter. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Horton and wife Maria of Grant, LA; Greg Horton and wife Janie of Moss Bluff, LA; daughter-in-law, Jackie Horton of Groves, TX; sisters, Estelle Graves and Audrey Harper of FL; grandchildren, Tonya, Lauren, Jessica, Travis, Scott and Michael; great grandchildren, Gracie, Bryce, Roman, Sophia, Aiden and Conner. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Horton; son, Donald G. Horton; parents, Leon and Melda Turner Harper.

Her service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Rev. Bob Murray will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and resume Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
