Henrietta LeBlanc Albright, a native of Morganza and a longtime former resident of Baton Rouge, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the age of 79. She was a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Henrietta retired from the State of Louisiana, where she worked for many years in accounting. In her free time, she explored the branches of her family tree as an amateur genealogist, and she enjoyed connecting with cousins near and far. She was also a stamp collector, which allowed her to see the world from the comfort of her home through tiny windows.
Henrietta was a lay member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order. She took on many leadership roles since joining the Carmelites in 1980 in Baton Rouge. At the local level, she served as Secretary, Formator (training new members), on Council, and volunteered as needed. At the Provincial level, she was honored by being selected to the Council and later elected President of the Provincial Council. She was a parishioner at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baton Rouge for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Andrea Crawford and husband, Michael, of Lake Charles; and two grandchildren, Henry and Eleanor Crawford. She is also survived a nephew, Patrick D. Mahr, and wife Jean Dugan-Mahr, two grand nieces, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sadie LeBlanc, and her sister, Joyce Marie “Peggy” Mahr and husband, Thomas.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She will be laid to rest in Morganza, Louisiana alongside members of her extended family. A memorial visitation will begin at 10:30am on Monday, May 9, 2022 with a memorial mass beginning at 11:30am at St. Ann Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Grand Cove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their care of Henrietta.
