Hugh Don Wagner

Don was born September 17, 1931 in McGee, AR to William and Ethel (Singletery) Wagner. He lived many years in Cameron, LA. He was the owner and founder of Cameron Cable and Cordage and was also the former Postmaster of Cameron, LA.

Don loved life and things of nature especially cats and bird watching. He enjoyed all types of music, loved to read, and watch the investment TV show Mad Money. He was especially known for his hard work and helping others.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Paul Wagner and wife, Bonita of Olla, LA; two nieces, Mary Kate Wagner and David Neil Tubbs of Homer, LA and Kathryn Haley of Homer, LA; great-nephew, Mike Greene and wife, Kelly of Houston, TX; and a host of great friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Paula McDaniel Wagner; his parents; two brothers, Norvin "Bubba" and James Wagner; one sister, Kathryn Ann Wagner; and one nephew, John Wagner.

His funeral will be at 1:00pm Sunday, June 15, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is from 9:00am 'til service time Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in McDaniel Cemetery, Kelly, LA at 5:00pm. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
