Jim was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to Harold Allen Boyette and Mamie Bernice Austin Boyette. A proud LSU graduate, he earned his degree in chemical engineering and dedicated 40 years of his professional life to PPG Industries, where his intelligence, work ethic, and steady character were deeply respected.
For 62 wonderful years, Jim shared his life with his beloved wife, Annie Marie (Bath) Boyette. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and devotion. He was a proud father to Kevin (Nikki), Dave (Angelle), and Ben (Robyn), and a joyful grandfather to Joseph, Jimmy, Jacob, Simone, Matilda, Benjamin, and Elizabeth. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Maddison, Logan, Will, Lucy, and Camden. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Vervon) Myers.
Jim lived a full and active life. He loved hunting and fishing, running and working out, and could often be found reading or enjoying time at his camp with family—one of his favorite places on earth. These moments, spent outdoors and together, were where his quiet joy shone brightest.
A lifelong member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, Jim’s faith was central to who he was. He served his parish generously, including serving on the design board during the construction of the new St. Theodore’s church, volunteering faithfully, and singing as a member of the choir. His commitment to service extended into the community through his work on the Ritchie Cemetery Board and as a charter member of the Moss Bluff Senior Center.
A casual “come as you are” visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Friday, January 02, 2026 from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral home will then reopen on Saturday, January 03, 2026 at 8:00AM until 9:45AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Moss Bluff, Louisiana, followed by burial at the Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful servant, and steady presence whose kindness, integrity, and humility touched many lives. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the deep love of the family he cherished.
The Boyette family respectfully requests that, in honor of Mr. Jim’s memory and his love of all things LSU, attendees wear their LSU attire and/or purple and gold to the visitation and/or funeral, if able.
